Hip Hop’s Masonic Order
The Corporate Influence of Power(Part 1)
By Rhett “PR” Butler
“I’d rather die enormous than live dormant that’s how we on it
Live at the main event, I bet a trip to Maui on it
Presidential suites my residential for the weekend
Confidentially speakin in codes since I sense you peekin!”
-Jay-Z, Can I Live
Since the dawning of Hip Hop, a cornerstone of the urban movement had been the respite found in the small circle nuances known only to Hip Hop culture adherents. Slang words that in traditional English language like “dope” and “bad” meant something negative but to Hip Hop culture adherents the words meant extreme positivity. This under the radar communication gave Hip Hop the element of a secret society with its own handshakes, language and agenda for positive mobilization of America’s ghetto youth.
Now decades removed from inception, Hip Hop is the world’s most popular music choice. Having moved from a genre of sub-culture stalwarts to pop culture barons, the rap music now has such an above ground appeal that acceptance today by the masses means a total inundation of the religion of commercialization. What designer you are wearing when you perform, what vehicles you are seen in, the way the women or men look that accompany the performer all tie in now to the rap music product. As such the financial success stories of these entertainers are massive and those sitting at the very top of that list seem untouchable and in another stratosphere power wise.
This has led to a new belief by many hip hop adherents and general conspiracy theorists that hip hop entertainers like Jay-Z and Kanye West are initiated members of the global secret societies of the rich and powerful. The thought has people analyzing every word uttered, garment worn or physical nuance shown by these entertainers. The result is a feeling that these entertainers are puppets, that many have put their trust in, of a secret society that maintain the unseen balance of world power. Are these fears valid? Is listening to Jay-Z or Kanye West like receiving a glimpse into the new money brigade of brainwashed power bounty hunters? A huge sub section of listeners seem to think so and here are the points.

Skull & Bones
As America’s best-known collegiate secret society, the Skull and Bones is the first organization to look at as an example of where the secret society myths originate. Founded on Yale University’s campus in 1832 the original name was “the Order of Skull and Bones.” The society’s alumni organization, which owns the society’s real property and oversees the organization, is the Russell Trust Association, named for General William Huntington Russell who co-founded Skull and Bones with classmate Alphonso Taft. The Russell Trust was founded by Russell and Daniel Coit Gilman, member of Skull and Bones and later a university president. The society is known informally as “Bones”, and members are known as “Bonesmen.”
According to the book, “Fleshing out Skull and Bones, a compilation edited by Kris Millegan, published in 2003, prominent alumni are Supreme Court Justice Potter Stewart, “Mother of the Central Intelligence Agency” James Jesus Angleton, Senator David L. Boren, economic adviser Austan Goolsbee, Former Presidents George H.W. Bush and his son George W. Bush and Former Massachusetts Senator, John Kerry. All these men are extremely powerful in American policy and world dealings leading people to believe there is a hidden agenda we are all just pawn to since these men have a shared secret allegiance.
Freemasonry
Freemasonry is a fraternal organization arising from obscure origins in the late 16th to early 17th century. Freemasonry now exists in various forms all over the world, with a membership estimated at around 5 million, inclusive of two million in the United States and 480,000 in England, Scotland and Ireland. The various forms all share moral and metaphysical ideals, which include, in most cases, a constitutional declaration of belief in a Supreme Being.
The fraternity is administratively organized into Grand Lodges (or sometimes Orients), each of which governs its own jurisdiction, which consists of subordinate (or constituent) Lodges. Grand Lodges recognize each other through a process of landmarks and regularity. There are also independent bodies, which are organizations related to the main branch of Freemasonry, but with their own independent administration.
Freemasonry uses the metaphors of operative stonemasons’ tools and implements, against the allegorical backdrop of the building of King Solomon’s Temple, to convey what has been described by both Masons and critics as a system of morality veiled in allegory and illustrated by symbols.
The Boule
Believed to be the father of the Black Greek fraternities and sororities, the Boule is a secret society that keeps all of America’s most successful blacks organized and subordinate. Founded in 1904 in Philadelphia, according to researcher, Steve Cokely, the word Boule is an acronym for secret society, Sigma Pi Phi.
By the Greek definition the word, Boule, was the lower house of the Greek Parliament or advisers to the king. There is also a French version of the word, which denotes a conclave or coming together (the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority calls its convention the Boule). Using the Greek definition these successful blacks are under the control of the larger Masonic secret society that rounds up America’s doctors, lawyers, major property owners and celebrities steering their agenda onto the black masses who look to the successful blacks for direction.
The book, History of Sigma Pi Phi written by noted professor Charles Wesley, author of the history books of the Elks, Prince Hall Masons and the National Council of Negro Women, states that the Boule was tailored after the Skull and Bones Society at Yale. As a secret society that focused on Boule member, W.E.B. Dubois’ term The Talented Tenth or the 10% of enlightened blacks in America, the Boule supposedly has been controlling t the other 90% of African-Americans socially and economically.
For example, Boule researcher Steve Cokely believes that the Boule was utilized effectively to limit the power and influence of Marcus Garvey. Supposedly a meeting of all the prominent black newspaper families and editors (The Amsterdam News, The Chicago Defender, The Pittsburgh Courier, The Baltimore and Washington Afro-American Newspapers) took place in Washington, D.C. where Masonic directives were given to either not discuss Garvey or him as a pariah not to be followed. In addition, Boule educators like Robert Russa Moton; former principal of Tuskegee University after Booker T. Washington, according to Cokely was a spy for the US government to coordinate the program against Marcus Garvey in America. According to Cokely, Moton was given $5 million to keep Marcus Garvey out of Liberia and halt the back to Africa movement in exchange for a Booker T. Washington accommodator stance with regards to race relations in America.
There have been articles, like the front page one in a Ju1y 990 edition of the L.A. Times that noted a meeting of elite black men in LA during the NAACP convention, by Karen Grigsby-Gates that also validate the existence of the Boule. Although a seemingly positive group of black people organized under the banner of success, is the Boule membership now replete with Hip Hop’s glitterati and what are the damaging results?
“Today’s ‘laffy taffy’ music of simple nursery rhymes are a result of entertainments corporate shareholders wanting a quick turn around on their stock returns. No longer are the days where artist in the urban space have the luxury of time to produce an album, its now about put it in the oven if it isn’t done ship it out regardless. Music is dumbed down by the day.”
Hip Hop Secret Society Evidence
Rocafella Records
As mentioned earlier many theorists have pointed to people like Jay-Z and Kanye West for now entering the ultimate power vacuum, the secret society, and propagating the beliefs through their now popularized music. Looking at the myriad conspiracy videos posted on You Tube show by being produced and the millions of people watching them, an overwhelming amount of people find this fascinating. Pointing out the fact that Jay-Z named his organization, Roc-a-fella Records after one of the most powerful and wealthy families in America according to the video, “Occult Secrets of Jay-Z, Kanye West and Nas” shows a glorification of perceived wealth and power.
Looking further Jay-Z’s usage of the diamond shape with his hands as the symbol for his company’s nickname “Roc” (slang for diamonds) to some harkens back to the freemasonry symbol of the Eye of Providence. Also known as the all-seeing eye the symbol represents the eye of God watching over all humankind. Stemming from the Egyptian usage of hieroglyphics the symbol was utilized by America’s Founding Fathers when creating the American system. Looking to the back of the dollar bill you see the Eye of Providence over an unfinished pyramid with the banners “Annuit Coeptis” (He approves our undertakings) and “Novus Ordo Seclorum” (New Order of The Ages).
Word pairings like “new” and “order” when associated with the Jay-Z Eye of Providence image too many expose Jay-Z’s new mentality and secret society agenda. When magnified by the dismissal of his one-time partners, Damon Dash and Kareem “Biggs” Burke and all their flagship artists like Beanie Siegel and the new name of Roc Nation for his company the myth is furthered. In addition, Masonic usage of the Eye of Providence always shows the left eye in the center of the triangle. According to the You Tube video it is a deliberation meant to match the eye at the top of the Masonic pyramid. Looking at Jay-Z in Johnny Cash’s “God’s Gonna Cut You Down” video he holds his diamond sign with his hands over his left eye while wearing a skull and bones Rocawear t-shirt.
Kanye West’s and Jay-Z’s “Lucifer” song had many looking at the potential of the two being freemasons or members of the occult looking to spread paganism throughout popular culture. Pointing to the dress of Kanye and Jay-Z throughout the years from sports team heavy dress to more refined business casual style with t-shirt images that popularize imagery like skulls, the Star of David and goat headed men also have fueled the debate. There is also a picture of Kanye West and Tom Freston, CEO of Viacom and a separate one with Kanye and Tom Cruise where he gets them to do the diamond sign as well mentally linking them all with secret society ties.
Bad Boy Records
Sean “Diddy” Combs has been one of the frontrunners in entertainment since the nineties. As such with his myriad entertainment properties on television, music and film his influence and reach are enormous. Many believe that through his artists and especially, The Notorious B.I.G., that Combs pushed the lifestyle of “ghetto fabulousness” to brainwash the masses. Glorification of luxury products and the whole mentality of spending above your means and living in the moment are believed to be a control mechanism. In addition, the usurpation of Combs’ Bad Boy label over his mentor Andre Harrell’s Uptown Records by Clive Davis and the Jewish run entertainment machine seems a bit sketchy. Harrell with his playful urban melodies and mash-up of R&B and Hip Hop promoted fun and celebrated of the black community. However, this was traded for the criminology and ghetto fabulous words of the myriad Bad Boy artists and we all witnessed the dominance Bad Boy Records had over the party and the street corner simultaneously.
Beyonce
Looking at today’s popular singers many think Beyonce has joined a secret society and taken the stance of her husband Jay-Z on dissemination of Masonic nuances through popular culture. Beyonce’s wearing of skull and bones accessories like a belt and adopting her husband’s use of the diamond sign in music videos have many believing her conversion to a secret society lifestyle as well. Just check You Tube or Google her name in relation to the Masons or the Occult and page upon page of people dispelling her music on the basis of a hidden agenda pop up.
Society of The Tuned In
It cannot be denied that there are numerous secret societies in our country and across the globe. The fact that many who join become celebrities, wealthy or powerful is very ironic and more than likely not a coincidence. However, entertainers although influential, regardless of whether they are members of secret societies or not, should not be the new focal point. The focal point should be our society of the tuned in, people who are so into commercialized entertainment themselves that they start to buy into it and read a lot more into the product. Success is perceived and is also a matter of perspective and clearly can come in all forms. Americans are so inundated with stories and exploits of who have been labeled rich and powerful that we are tuned into those standouts every word and action. However, they are entertainers and past giving us the water cooler fodder to pass our day with they are merely vessels to occupy our minds with idly.
The real power brokers are the names we don’t know and the agendas we have no idea are being created. Eric Nicks of Brook lawn Entertainment CEO states that, “Today’s ‘laffy taffy’ music of simple nursery rhymes are a result of entertainments corporate shareholders wanting a quick turn around on their stock returns. No longer are the days where artist in the urban space have the luxury of time to produce an album, its now about put it in the oven if it isn’t done ship it out regardless. Music is dumbed down by the day.”
The machine itself in which it is no secret what the motivation is: money. The society of the commercialized interest is what is at play and when Hip Hop saw the bucks it said goodbye to its original secret society of the creative ghetto youth against pop culture. Hip Hop is pop culture and has joined the biggest secret society of those seeking to become the next rich and powerful. Religious allegories and potential freemason affiliations aside the new black is money and it is no secret that Hip Hop is its biggest propagator.
Regardless of the social affiliations of the rich and powerful and the history of secret societies in our world the fact is that we need to tune out of commercialized culture and tune into where Hip Hop started as a means to address the needs of the people. The fact that we as a culture have swept that under the rug is the real secret of our unique society.
Lord forgive him
He got them dark forces in him
But he also got a rightous cause for sinnin
